I wonder if the reason she is bleeding is because she miscarried a pregnancy? From what I understand, mating season is Sept/Oct?

Sad , but true ....
It's already too late ...
Agreed 100%. This will end badly for the moose and all those that think that wildlife in a populated area is ok. It's not and almost always ends badly for the wildlife.
Why use a big word when a diminutive one will suffice.

Does anyone think maybe she is staying near people in the hopes of getting help from humans... maybe she knows she is sick (if she is) and this is her last effort in finding some help. Just another thought...

Do you think that a wild moose has higher reasoning abilities to search out assistance from a lifeform that hunts, kills and will eat you?

If you were out hiking and took a fall that caused you a bleeding injury, would you try to seek out the assistance of a wolf, bear, coyote for their assistance? Wild animals have a built in instinct to avoid predators for good reason. This moose is probably moved to an area to avoid the same predators that you would also seek. After all, moose don't know that we humans have guns, and generally we are quiet an avoid confrontation with a moose.

Welcome to the forum and don't mind the naysayers. Stranger things have happened.
While she may not anticipating help it's quite possible that she knows that the threat of poaching and predators is far less while she remains close to residential areas. She could be cognizant that this gives her a better chance to heal. Injured animals often seek refuge from predators where ever they can find it.
Like your username, you have put forward a positive thought which is good.

I've heard that animals that are raised or tamed by humans and then released have been known to return to people when distressed. I don't think a wild moose would know though, it's probably just trying to avoid predators.

Absolutely not. She's not sick, and is simply bleeding a small amount from a broken wart. Leave her alone. The longer she stays near humans and civilization, the more likely she's going to end up dead.

Entangled whales allow themselves to be cut loose; sometimes perform a waterdance of thanks afterwards.
Strange world.
Strange world.
Sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice. There’s a certain point at which ignorance becomes malice, at which there is simply no way to become THAT ignorant except deliberately and maliciously.

Frisk is likely right, avoiding predators and I'd throw in deep snow. What animal wants to be in deep snow all the time. We haven't joined anyone going up there to try for photos, I figure the last thing this moose needs is another vehicle around.
I did photograph a moose clearly avoiding deep snow when it was coming up Clearwater Valley road. We were able to stop and give it time to evaluate us but unfortuately she got spooked by the two trucks which roared in behind me. Poor moose ran up a driveway and did the idiots just drive by? Nope, one driver chased up the driveway to see if they could see more of her.
Damn.

As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

True and if it's true about whales having an above average intelligence in the animal kingdom, they would allow this to happen.

Easy now big fella. No one is condoning harassing the moose... just a few questions being put forward. And you know the positive cause of bleeding how?
Here is an amazing example of animals understanding and appreciating human intervention. Three minutes long but worth seeing. Baby elephant rescued from a well...

One thing over 10 yrs most of long time posters have learned, even though we may clash on politics, GF has indepth knowledge and appreciation of the natural World. Read over posts from 2008 and onwards, this fact shines through time and time again.
And GF never said anyone condons harassing Millie, or any moose.
