I'm going to spring ahead and complain now........meh, don't care enough actually.

Lived in Sask where they don't do it and in BC where they do, hasn't really had any real affect on my life, it's a cute little silly thing that we do or not because we have done it in the past.

Totally unnecessary
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.

Province should decide on PST or DST and be done with silly clock changes.

When we move the clock ahead we make better use of daylight and use less energy, for lighting for example, because it is light out later. That alone should be enough for our 'energy efficient' society. Further, it puts the hottest part of the day later, giving those who work outdoors more cool time. All this talk about how it messes people up is hogwash, imho.

No, I would vote to leave it as is, spring ahead and then fall back. PDT in summer, PST in winter.

Personal I don't care which one is used, pick 1 & use it year round. As I've said earlier totally unnecessary to change the clocks.

I'm glad the time is going ahead next week. Then the damn dog will start bugging for her dinner at the right time and not an hour early.

That's worked out great for me!

It may seem easy to make that change from our present switching back and forth but do you remember what happened when Dave Barrett's government decided to do that?

What happened was this: It was announced that BC would remain on the same time the whole year (I think standard time but I'm not totally sure). The government got a lot of pushback and flip-flopped a couple of times before announcing a day or two beforehand that the time would switch after all. The Barrett government's credibility was damaged and we're still on the same back and forth system today.

^^And the governments of Bennett and the subsequent NDP government and the BC Liberal government did nothing. What is your point Urbane?

The BC Liberals had 16 years in power to change whatever they wanted to. What is their excuse?

Why do you have to make every discussion in to an anti-Liberal diatribe?? Seriously . . . why? Here's what actually happened with Dave Barrett:

The Daylight Savings fiasco, during which Mr. Barrett announced that Daylight Savings would kick in Jan. 6 to save energy costs, postponed it for a month, then finally killed the plan completely, snowed under by a blizzard of criticism and ridicule.

The problem, as some people saw it, was that BC's time wouldn't jibe with the time south of the border and that there would be all sorts of issues with airline schedules etc. Fiasco is the right word so any government contemplating a change that would mean our time is different than the time south of the border, in the pacific time zone, must be careful.

Your point about the Liberals doing nothing would appear to be wrong:

The province conducted a review of daylight saving time in 2006, and said the vast majority of those consulted were in favour of maintaining the status quo.
