Not me.
Dance as if no one's watching, sing as if no one's listening, and live everyday as if it were your last.

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.

My four cats would never forgive me. I do however wish to dress up the neighbour's dogs.
Here I thought there was nothing lower than a snakes belly in a rut in a ditch. I was wrong. Cash: Your last form of privacy. Use it or lose it.

Dressing up pets is not a good idea. Some people say their pet "likes it". No. They tolerate it.

Dressing them up poses risks. Overheating, chafing, are two things that pose harm. It can also cause anxiety. outfits can pose a choking hazard as well.

Also dressing them up impedes they fight and flight ability. If something were to happen and the clothing restricted the animal to either defend itself or flee the results could be catastrophic for the animal.

Why this need to anthropomorphize them? Let them be what they are. They aren't toys or accessories.

Well, if you are anthropomorphizing them, then they aren't toys or accessories. A great many people think of their pets as fur babies and/or an extension of themselves. Why the need? Fulfilling the love needed? Doesn't matter. I haven't dressed my pets up since I was a young child but the urge was always there if only to bring a smile to a face which is obviously so easy to do when you look at the internet. There's always pets dressed up at Halloween. If it's not hurting the pet what's the harm?

No one knows if they aren't bring harmed. They can't speak for themselves. And the potential for a great deal physical of harm is there. I get the fur baby thing. My animals live better than I do. They want for nothing. They eat better than I do and get better healthcare than I do. They come first, always. In addition to my own, I foster and raise recue orphans. I don't need to dress them up to get them to love me. And I don't need to dress them up to have them make me smile. Working with rescues, maybe I'm sensitive to the anxieties that pets face. Dressing them up does not bring the majority of them warmth and comfort.

Sadly, to some, pets are toys or accessories. It's all about them and the attention they get by dressing up an animal, clueless to the potential risks.

If one is anthropomorphizing them to fulfill some need for a child perhaps they should volunteer working with children or get a dolly.

When one is caring for and loving an animal that clearly appreciates it, pretty safe bet it isn't being harmed. Have no idea why you think those that humanize pets should work with children or get a doll - that seems weird if they don't want to. All I asked was if anyone was dressing their dog up for Halloween. I expect I'll see one or two Halloween night.

Dachshunds and their owners got into the Halloween spirit during the annual Howl-O-Weenie walk.

Short of stature and long on cuteness, the weenies took to the streets of downtown Kelowna on Sunday, all decked out in Halloween gear.

"We walked along the waterfront from the Dolphins to the Sails, parading the dogs around in their costumes and giving out prizes," said organizer Emily Enoch.

This year was the third such event, and Enoch says it's just as much for the dogs as it is for their owners.

"We do it for the dogs. They love meeting fellow dachshunds, but also for the owners, meeting like-minded people."

Awards were handed out to a Dachshund dressed as a tootsie roll, and for the couples costume of The Handmaid's Tale.

Check out the Kelowna Dachshund Club's Facebook page here.

Proudly waves hand! I spoil her 364 days a year, so I have the fun of dressing her up ( we usually go out everyone makes a fuss)
Full costumes she doesn't like ( and she was a damn cute Dino too)
So this year just a tutu.. rainbow colors.
At the pet shop yesterday there were lots of doggies in costume.. the lil guy who was a chicken was enjoying himself
I'll get someone to post a pix of her

I thought so ... she has been a Hippo, Dino, Wonderwoman and Disco Queen ( she ripped the skirt off of that) Hard to find as she is tiny but stocky.
