How would common_sense_guy feel if this was going and his house burning down or they required this crew to save a life in an accident. Wake up too much money was spent but blame that on what the city gives to the unions in control. Maybe they should have a morals clause put in, but wait unions do not like that so what else can the city do say sorry to bad away you go back to work with penalty.

All the money spent by Vernon reminds me of the dog fiasco at the Okanagan Regional District.
A manager from the City of Kelowna seconded to the RDCO spent $100.000 on lawyers from Vancouver fighting the owner of a dog who supposedly attacked another dog.
The battle went on for several years with those responsible lacked the brains and will to work out a solution without the high costs borne by...you guessed it..the taxpayer
