Police seize weapons cache

Post by John Crawford »

good story, good job taking all the guns off the street, recovering all the stolen property. HOWEVER, The four people who were detained were released without charges. This matter continues to be under investigation. is this the prosecution service or the RCMP, because this is a joke.

Seems obvious if you know anything about how law works why there were released. police just show up one day find all the stolen stuff they can't prove the people in the house stole it. They're going to obviously plead they knew nothing about it. The burden of proof is on the prosecution like it always is to prove the people in the house did the thieving. It's going to be a hard one to prove no matter what unless you catch them in the act of thieving. Go ahead and rag on the judges in the police because of your lack of knowledge of law. One day you go over to your buddies place and you're all sitting around having beers in the cops come and they find stolen property, should you be charged with thieving if you had nothing to do with it and didn't know anything was stolen? Do you think it would be wise to arrest and detain people without proof that they did anything wrong? Or would that open you up to a whole new liability lawsuit. Detaining people that it hasn't been proved they did anything wrong. Need proof people. Stop your uneducated whining about the law and judges on this one. Of course there's a good chance some or even most or even all of the people knew what was going on but proving it and thinking something are two completely different things and if they can start putting people in jail because they think they did something without proof where do you think society would be then.

Releasing them without charges doesn't mean "they're not going to be charged".
Pretty standard procedure for non-violent crimes.
