Volleyball dome proposed

And the "Guy" running these programs on funing allowances gets to bump his salary from tax payers from 80 - 100k.
got the city in his pocket too.
promote programs you manage to glean the fees off the education fees.

I will not post names but there are a lot of activities the Greater Vernon needs rather that targeted sport specific
major investments. (which most of the community will never be able to regularly access unless they are a member or team)
Please stop these specific sport complex cash dumps.
Multiuse or fair use options should be promoted.

Actually.
The COV is lacking play venues for children.
Third party setup’s like YaYa’s and play centers are gone in vernon.

Sad that any “kids” programs are still based out of the dogwood gym.
Id get behind a municipal owned facility like energy plex / play center
For kids.

Why didn't the City start out by asking which sports/rec groups wish to build facilities as part of the "flagship" that will be Kin Racetrack Athletic Park (KRAP)?

How about North Valley Gymnastics, will they be invited to present at the next Council meeting?

Surely a $90M rec centre coupled with a $40M park deserves a heckuvalot better planning.

Exactly. It does require a lot of planning. And more funding for all the buildings to house the sports and recreation groups.

This is NOT what our city wants or needs - it's what two guys running a volleyball business want. This volleyball special interest group is certainly doing everything they can to take city dollars for their own interests, selfish. We're really glad you like volleyball... uhh... :200:

Use school gymnasiums on nights and weekends - there are gyms literally everywhere that sit dark, empty and unused 95% of every week. They are already built, everything is already there.

You are right about lack of things for kids. Vernon is still doing better in that department than kelowna. Vernon has a Science centre, davidson orchard, O'Keefe ranch. Lots of people with kids travel there for those activities. Kelowna is p*&% poor in that department. I agree with the multi-use venues...it's hard to back something so niche
