The regional district has just down graded, the evac order to an alert for Norman Lake, I know several people who will be very happy about this! Sorry not sure how to do quotes from another site.

Outstanding effort on this fire with some help from Mother Nature, has yielded some serious results:

Status: Active
• 100% contained

Crews continued to aggressively patrol and mop-up any hotspots around the perimeter of the Little Bobtail Lake fire today. Heavy rain was observed on all areas of the fire. This wildfire is now 100 per cent contained. An Evacuation Order is still in effect for areas of the Bulkey Nechako Regional District. This order remains in place while crews continue to remove danger trees and demobilize sprinkler units. For more information on this Evacuation Order, please contact the Bulkley-Nechako Regional District.

There were a few flare ups on this fire today. All remain within the perimeter of the fire and are not a concern at this time.

Crews will only be on scene when necessary. The fire will be actively monitored through means of a lookout, crews, fire wardens, or aircraft.

It's probably going to smolder all summer. It would take forever to mop up 25,000 hectares.

Don't you mean 25,569 hectares? This rounds up to 26,000 if you're rounding to 2 sig figs.

Is this Bobtail lake one bigger than the 2003 park fire?
