Looks like they are doing a burn off on the northeast flank.

It's very windy in the area right now but there's nothing really active at the moment. A helicopter got caught on the first webcam image.

A flare up on the western flank and a burn off on the northern part is producing a lot of smoke.

I'm guessing that's a burn off?

Size: 1,885.0 hectares (estimated)
Status: Active
• 35% contained
The controlled burn yesterday was successful and crews secured part of the south side of the fire to reduce the risk of the wildfire spreading further.

The north side of the fire (closest to structures) continues to be a top priority for fire suppression. Machine guard and hand guard will be constructed and water delivery has been established.

The increased size of the fire reflects the hectares that burned in the planned, controlled burn yesterday.

A rain storm just rolled through the area, probably the final nail in the coffin for this one. Very impressive work by the firefighters, they kept it under control despite the hot and windy weather this past week.

There's quite a bit of smoke coming from the west flank high up on the mountain. Not sure if it's a burn off or flare up.

It's picking up a bit up on the west flank but there's a small rain storm that might move through the area.

The increased fire size is primarily occuring in the top third portion of the fire which continues to push upslope towards the high alpine to the west.

To put that in context, Cisco is now the 151st largest fire in BC since 2002.

Check out the dark smoke. Probably rank 5 but it's in a pretty remote location.
