From Environment Canada:

At 3:30 p.m. PDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts, dime to nickel size hail and heavy rain.

Radar indicates a severe thunderstorm south of Aspen Grove near Highway 5A is moving northward at a speed of 25 km/h. The thunderstorm is expected to cross Highway 97C within half an hour [4 pm].

Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Fast moving water across a road can sweep a vehicle away. Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Avoid driving through water on roads. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!

Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required. Please monitor local media or Weatheradio. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or tweet reports to #BCStorm.

That storm is a beast, hands down the largest cell I've ever seen on this radar.

Kamloops is already getting a thunderstorm with rain. This cell will be more towards Salmon Arm.

Princeton just got hammered. Temperature dropped 9 degrees with the rain.

Yup Mountains will cause the "popping."

Relative humidity is a lot higher today, and will be much higher tomorrow. The temperature and the danger rating will be down.

From south east Kelowna ...

Overhead clouds moving North Nort West. Continuus thunder in distance from large black storm cloud to South East of us. Breeze from south east has dwingled. A very few very intermittent drops of large raindrops noted. Wild Finches have left the feeders. Everything seems to be waiting ... for what ??
