Crews are on scene of a wildfire on Highway 33 just east of Heartland Ranch. Castanet has a reporter heading to the scene.

so how far up hwy 33 would that be for the ones that dont know heartland ranch ?

Fire crews are on the scene of a wildfire in the area of Highway 33 about a mile east of Heartland Ranch.
According to fire crews the fire is about a hectare in size and moving up a slope.
It is being described as a rank two fire with flames getting into the trees.
Assistance from the Wildfire Management Branch has been requested.
Castanet has a reporter heading to the scene.

obviously another f *bleep* throwing their cigarette out since it started right next to the highway. ban smoking not campfires.

It could also be caused by a discarded glass bottle.

UPDATE 3:40 P.M.
Residents near the Highway 33 wildfire are being evacuated.
An evacuation order has been put in place for all residents on Huckleberry Road between Goudie Road and Sun Valley Road.
More details when they become available.

...hope they get a handle on this - that has potential to get ugly really fast for a lot of people up Goudie/SunValley/Huckleberry...surprised with an evac order they're detouring traffic up through that area...huge hassle to shut the highway down but all that additional traffic will not help get those people - especially all the livestock up there - out easily...good luck to the fire crews and residents...
