Fire across from Paul's Tomb.

Postby Mr Danksworth » Jul 19th, 2015, 4:45 pm

Looks like there is a little fire getting going across from Paul's tomb. Spotter plane is in the air.
Nothing on the Internet is so serious it can't be laughed at, and nothing is as laughable as people who think otherwise.

4 AT8T's and a Bell 212 launched out of Penticton headed that way to join the Cessna Caravan spotter.

Bear Creek wildfire

Postby oneh2obabe » Jul 19th, 2015, 4:59 pm

An estimated 0.2 hectare wildfire is currently burning in Bear Creek Provincial Park off Westside Road.

Fire information officer Kelsey Winter says six provincial firefighters have been deployed to battle the blaze alongside West Kelowna fire crews, who are already on scene.

The fire was reported just after 4 p.m. Sunday.

Although the blaze is currently only a rank 2, Winter says they are hitting it hard with two helicopters and tankers as it is in a park, on a very hot day, with no rain in the forecast.

Okay so that must be the one that is "across" from Paul's Tomb. Makes sense. Thanks.

AT8T's reloading, 2 back en-route to the fire 1 about to launch and 4th another minute or 2 before it will roll.

Okay sorry, I'm not in the central okanagan today so it's hard to tell what's going on from just looking at the webcam. I thought the radar showed a T-storm in the area but I could be wrong.
