*bleep* pic but saw the lightning hit, called it in, but it had already been reported. 2 Helicopters are working on it for the last 3/4 of an hour. They have knocked it down pretty good and have now left.

Firefighters are on the scene of a second forest fire on the Westside, this one north of Lake Okanagan Resort and south of the La Casa residential community. There is no need to call 911 or fire dispatch on this matter. Residents along Westside Road near Bear Creek Provincial Park remain on evacuation alert due to the fire near the park that started earlier in the afternoon. Residents from the intersection Parkinson Road north, including Bear Creek Road, Bear Creek Main, Rose Valley Road, Petterson Road and Dougmac Road are on evacuation alert. La Casa is way further down the road near Fintry. Wilsons Landing is before Lake Okanagan Resort as my parents live out there. We were just out there tonight and there was tons of lightning and thunder around. Anyways pretty sure a new fire spotted.

Looks like Forestry just arrived by truck, they will have a good climb to get up to the fire.

Oh dear...looks like the fire last night above Wilsons Landing on Westside Rd.has reared its ugly head again. Lots of flame. This wind is NOT good !

Can't really see anything

It looked like this one was out today but in the last hour it has started up again,a couple of trees just candled.

Looks like it's grown quite a bit...seeing lots of trees candling. Pretty hard area to access. Can see lots of flashing lights on Westside Rd. ...can't see any action by helicopters or planes. too windy? This could turn nasty.

I called Forestry about 1/2 hour ago just to make sure they knew about fire K50391 starting up again which they did, had a couple of calls before. When I mentioned watching trees candling she said thanks for the new info as others just said small smoke rising.

Right below is that string of condos built a few years ago. Can't remember the name. Wonder if they're evacuating. Trying to post picture but says file is too big.
