Smoke, flames toward N. Glenmore

Postby monroe » Jul 20th, 2015, 10:25 pm

We're looking north wst above sexmith into north glenmore/dilworth area from southeast off springfield and it looks like the glow of flames through a ton of smoke. This seems to be way too close to be the wildfire across the lake out by lake Ok resort.

Anyone else see?

I am seeing this, too, and it was definitely not the Kane Road fire...I am looking Northwest from back side of Dilworth....looks to be McKinley area, as it is behind mountain. It is possible it is the westside one, but seems much closer!

Looks like it is above Quail Ridge and UBCO. Watching from Gallaghers, looks pretty big.

Yeah it does look further north than we first thought.

No, just the new one across the lake. It just flared up so big and fast that it seems so much closer from the huge mass of smoke and the crazy wind. From my angle it looks like McKinley, but I can definitely tell it is not by UBCO area. Just so much smoke that it looks closer. Firetrucks have patrolled up past Wilden and down McKinley to confirm that it is just smoke from across the lake, so even they were fooled!
