Rock Creek/ Kettle River Campground Fire
Just got pictures sent of a fire very close to campground. Sounds like it is being evacuated.
You can't fix stupid........BUT you can dress them up and over pay them to teach your kids!

The campground can not be evacuated at this point. We have friends in there right now and it's burning on both sides of the river including the entrance to the site.

If you go to drive bc and look at Highway 3 webcams there is a good shot from the junction of 3 and 33 that shows its location

Re: Rock Creek Wildfire
I have friends in the Campground right now. There are loud popping noises being heard and they are now walking down the KVR towards Rock Creek. That is the evacuation route given. NO RVs got out and the fire is inside campground and up the hill both sides of river.

"Transmission Delayed"
Is that from too many people trying to view the webcam at once? ;-)

Re: Rock Creek Wildfire
OMG - I hope everyone gets out safely!
About 70 people at a campground near the Rock Creek wildfire are fleeing on foot after the fire cut off their only means of escape.
One man called Castanet News to inform us of the situation. His wife is one of those trying to escape the Kettle Valley Campground.
Some of the campers are elderly. They have had to leave their cars and tents behind, he said.
They are trying to get to safety in Rock Creek.
"Apparently, the rescue people can't get to them," he added.
"The reason I am calling you is to try and get some of the emergency services to respond. They have been sitting on the iron bridge on the river."
He said there are no emergency services there with them.
"I've just called 911, and they said they are aware."

Re: Rock Creek Wildfire
Campground people are being sent to midway as all hwys are closed. Started hairpin climb going out of rock creek. NOT 4 hectares.
