You know what I miss is a nice quiet lounge, like the old Three Gables or even the Penticton Inn lounge. They were great places to take someone on a first date. No sports on the big screen, at noise levels too high to have a conversation. I don't think Penticton has a quiet place to go for a drink anymore. Wasn't there supposed to be a wine bar being built on Main Street? I'd love a nice, small, quiet jazz lounge, but it probably wouldn't fly in a town dominated by sports bars.

Here's a blast from the past. I remember the Three Gables from my childhood, in the early/mid 70's. The owner was my youngest sister's godfather. He always made us Shirley Temples when we came to visit. . .

There used to be two entrances to the bar. One for Gentlemen and the other for Ladies and Escorts.

Was there another curling club located in the downtown area of Kelowna before the facility on Recreation Ave. got built ?
