Still burning. Can't see the ground where it's located but does not seem to be moving. Actually a great day to burn a slash pile, little chance of it getting out of control.

Perhaps they are controlled burns to create forage land for all the ungulates on the reserve?
Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Controlled burns. Yard burning, ditch burning, etc.

New one today that clearly got away on them. Out of control for over two hours going up slope and winds driving it north. At this time there is still smoke, but looks like they managed to get it snuffed. For an hour or so, it was pretty iffy if they would contain it.

Hopefully that does not get away from them.

Did this get away from them? Seems a bit messed up.

I don't see the relationship between this fire burning up trees, etc on the Mountainside and brush burning last weds and thursday along the river channel. If they wanted to get rid of the trees, why not salvage them first; then burn what's left. Kinda dumb to start a fire at dusk, as well.

Sorry I didn't mean to correlate the channel fires with today's fire. Just have been seeing many many fires on PIB land lately but this one seemed a bit out of control. No need for fire vehicles with the lights going if it was controlled. Also it was in more than just 2 locations. I counted at least 4 separate locations where burning was taking place and it was not slash piles. Maybe the first one was but it looks as though the wind picked up and embers ignited other areas.
The fire trucks needed to be called out after that. But I'm just guessing.
