Yes, good question, Southy. Nothing in that story mentions staying in Penticton. Perhaps CTF has some inside info?

Also, its my opinion that Weeb and Vass may not see eye to eye on many upcoming issues. Weeb likely was tired of politics and found as good or better job in the private sector without the BS that goes on in the big white house.

Sorry Jak buddy. The guy has been on a Mediterranean diet all of his life. He looks pretty fit to me. His 90 something yr old mother is still voting too.

"Thank you Penticton, but I've bitten off a bit more than I can chew here, I'm sorry I wasted everyone's time in running for Mayor, subsequently winning and now not being able to fulfil my duties, I see that this is over my head and I can no longer continue as your Mayor."

OR

"Due to health concerns, I am not able to perform my duties as Mayor in the capacity that Penticton citizens expect, unfortunately I must resign my position."

I'm sorry, I think you're misunderstanding what I'm getting at.
I don't wish health problems on anyone.
I'm only saying that usually when a Politician has to back away from something they always come up with colourful excuses, health concerns being a top reason they use.

Sorry if anyone else thought I was wishing ill will on someone, that wasn't my intention.

Vassilaki has been in municipal politics longer than most of us have lived in Penticton. He's finally in the big chair and he is going to eat up every minute of it, come hell or high water. He has thicker skin than you seem to think.

Just because he doesn't fit your bill, having sour grapes isn't going to fix anything. This mayor and council actually has a chance to be more fiscally prudent than any we've seen in a long time thanks to its diversity.

You got me all wrong, but that's totally ok.
I think others here see what I meant by the "health concerns" statement, but I will go over it again just incase YOU still don't get it.
I only meant that IF he is in over his head, and IF he chooses to back out, that HE will probably choose a colourful excuse LIKE a health concern as a reason for leaving, I'm not saying he's sick, I'm not saying I wish him ill and I definitely didn't say he WAS or WASN'T my pick on the ballot.
But for your sake, I'll tell you that I did indeed vote for Vassilakis for Mayor.

And as for transparency, my name is Mark L. and I'm a resident of Penticton living on Lee Avenue, I think that pretty much takes the "troll" name calling right off the table.
