Slumpy did a fairly good job of that letter. Also, Mike Pearce (former mayor of Penticton) supported the decision to NOT give Sentes the RDOS job this time in a letter in the paper.

Karla should hang her head on shame over this. She is actually a very bright lady and I am having trouble reconciling this brain fart of support for Sentes. Must be a wine and cheese club sisterhood.
I had actually hoped she would make some kind of media statement that she had misspoken or statements taken out of context.....no intent to cast judgment on the newly elected Mayor's (by a landslide) right to appoint. But nothing.
Any respect I had for Karla is gone now for trying to play politics and leveraging the whopping 470 votes that put her into the plumb position she enjoys. Not 470 votes over the next candidate........470 total votes.

Naramata has a winter population now of around 1150. used to be around 2500.

Reading the comments from the mayor debates, I'd be thinking Karla has more of her marbles in a row.

Seems the rest of the RDOS board ain't too happy with the reps from Penticton. Completely shutout.

Seewood … would be very interested in seeing where you got those actual numbers? Seems like quite the spread.

Probably stems from the City’s talk about making the RDOS pay towards their pool, arenas and other amenities. There’s been talk of non-city residents paying higher user fees or adding a levy to RDOS property owners.

I think we will see an “us vs them” in the coming months.

And we have a winner!! The actual reason all Penticton members were shut out. The RDOS members from out side of Penticton think they should swim for the same price, use the Gym, have their kids in Hockey and not pay for the ice,......I could go on but I think the local population is finally waking up to the reality that they are pulling the cart without help from everyone benefiting from the facilities provided.
What RDOS member outside of Penticton's 4 positions mandated because of carrying 40% of the total RDOS budget would have campaigned to support Penticton taxpayers for a contribution to recreation facilities?

The RDOS is a joke just another layer of Government adding more expense for the majority of us for a small group of taxpayers! Karla, by now, should know better than to but into Penticton's appointment business.No one in public office "deserves" to be appointed to any committee or board because of "experience",least of all Judy S. It doesn't take a "rocket scientist" to get themselves up to speed on RDOS business/issues/boards!! Easy money!!
