Wonder when the city authorized this cannabis clinic?

I noticed some work being done in the building beside Terry's Breakfast place on Main. Upon further investigation I noticed a development permit for a Cannabis Clinic. Permit was issued to https://compasscannabis.ca/

I didn't see a date as to when the actual permit was approved, but one has to wonder if this fell on our previous mayor and council. Yet, what is confusing at least to me is an article from Peter Weeber which states: https://www.bclocalnews.com/news/legal- ... he-future/

Can anyone shed some light on this. I'm not against it, I just find it interesting that the City didn't release this application to the public.

I am thinking this is purely a clinic. Not for selling product.
And the Physicians in said clinic likely specialize in prescribing alternative medicine. AKA. Medicinal cannabis.

So it likely is permitted for a Clinic, which it seems like it is.

Compass Cannabis Clinics are strictly medicinal. Physicians (General Practitioners) go in generally once a week, and see booked patients to discuss and write prescriptions. Patients can then order their prescribed product through licensed producers.
There is no Cannabis products on site. It is a medicinal clinic only.

I find this interesting on a few different levels. Why the need for a separate clinic when any doctor can legally prescribe? Even if at a walk in clinic.
Are there so few doctors willing to prescribe that there is a need for a stand alone MJ prescription clinic.
Are doctors restricted for liability or partnerships reasons from prescribing cannibals?
Is it truly a specialist field that requires a specialized stand alone facility?

Twobits … I believe if you read through the Physicians part of the site it presents investment opportunities, I see this as another doctor money grab just like the Aesthetics Clinics where doctors now charge to remove a skin tag and fill your wife with botox. I also noticed that they use the wording your doctors appointment is free and staff will assist you in finding a supplier. Yup.

Guess I was not obvious enough for people to read between the lines.
