Fire Westside Road - Bit North From Lake Okanagan Resort

Large fire right along side of West Side Road, just north of Lake Okanagan Resort. Sation 42 waiting for crews. West Side Road will probably have some closures.

Plume is flat, smoke looks coppery...might be burnin pretty hot being fanned by that wind. Could get interesting.

That's a pretty standard outcome most times, I expect the around the same with the amount of resources being thrown at it currently.

UPDATE 5 p.m.
An evacuation alert has been issued for areas around the Cinnibar Creek Wildfire.

Evacuation alerts have been issued for Camp Owaissi, Lake Okanagan Resort and Camp Mewata.

The regional district has also activated its Emergency Operations Centre to support response to the fire.

UPDATE 5:30 p.m.

Fire crews are hitting a wildfire north of Okanagan Lake Resort hard.

The BC Wildfire Management Branch has sent 14 firefighters and nine aircraft to assist the Wilson's landing Volunteer Fire Department.

Air support includes two bird dogs, four tankers and three skimmers.

Is it unusual for the wind to be blowing down the lake from the north like this?
I have learned that to be with those I like is enough.
