Fire is up in Bear Creek Canyon, reported earlier both sides, active fire activity on north side of canyon.

Kelowna, B.C. – The following areas are on Evacuation Order due to the Bear Creek wildfire: Bear Creek Provincial Campground, Trader’s Cove, Bear Creek Road north of the Parkinson Road intersection including Dougmac, Rose Valley and Petterson Roads.
Pine Point subdivision is on Evacuation Alert. Those residents should be prepared to leave on short notice.
Visit cordemergency.ca for the latest updates including a map of the evacuation order and alert areas. Specific addresses can be searched to determine if the properties are on Evacuation Alert or Order.
An Emergency Support Services Center has been opened at 2466 Main Street. All people who have been evacuated to the south are asked to register at the Center.
Westside Road is closed between Bear Creek Road and Pine Point subdivision.
Fire crews from West Kelowna, Wilson’s Landing, North Westside Fire Rescue, Peachland and BC Wildfire Services are on site. The Emergency Operation Centre has been activated to support crews in the field responding to this incident.
New information will be released to the public through the media and cordemergency.ca as soon as it becomes available.

Another bush truck and engine requested as fire is reburning itself and close to Bear Creek Campground entrance. Reports of wind picking up in fire area.

While I agree that no one should toss cigarettes!! I thought this Fire was caused by down power lines due to wind. Also the reason thousand have no power on the westside??? Or am I mistasken??

Could be that it was caused by a downed power line - I didn't read all of the comments in the thread.
