Maybe I missed something on the news , but where exactly are the NDP asking for taxpayer funding ?

On the other hand , every time I turn on a tv or computer lately I am bombarded with "inspiring" messages from the government of BC , telling me about all the great things the government is doing for us. While this is clearly intended to get us to vote for the BC Liberals , they are not Paying for it as election advertising. These constant commercials are being paid for by the taxpayer. The Liberals call it "public information and engagement" , and spend about $30 million (your tax $$) a year on it. The fact that these "engagements" are so prolific just before an election prove that our pathetic Liberal government has no problem at all spending our money to promote their Party. It's the Christy Clark government , and we would be foolish to expect any better.

Clark’s new directive calling for an independent review of B.C.’s campaign financing system is a metaphorical “love letter” to the RCMP that silently pleads for forgiveness for any unintended wrongdoing by her party that may be unearthed by its investigation.

Reading between the lines of that directive, it is certainly an admission of guilt by the government that it failed to act as it should have done, in previously launching such a review.

Yet it is also a very public message to the RCMP.

It implies that whatever illegal actions may have transpired, if any, they all stand to be corrected going forward, by a nonpartisan effort to fix whatever needs fixing in the current system that is so fixed in favour of the ruling party.

That aside, the Clark government’s most recent about-face is most obviously a death-bed repentance aimed at staving off the public executioner—namely, you, dear voter. It is a classic Clarkian attempt to once again wipe yet another sticky political issue off the table before the election.

It’s a cheap political ploy, no doubt, but will it work? Only if we are dumb enough to fall for it.

Even Steven wrote:Islamic terrorism is an issue.

None of the parties have addressed it so far.

Appalling.
Is this really a major issue in BC? Has there been a single Islamic terrorist attack here?

I feel we have much bigger threats to address. Saying Islamic terrorism is a provincial election issue is the same as saying that killer whale attacks are a big issue. Why haven't any of the parties addressed the issue of whale attacks?
"Dishwashers, the dishwasher, right? You press it. Remember the dishwasher, you press it, there'd be like an explosion. Five minutes later you open it up the steam pours out, the dishes -- now you press it 12 times, women tell me again." - Trump

I think terrorism is more of a Federal Issue than a Provincial one.

The fact that there is no Opposition to the Liberal government in this province has made BC a laughing stock.
