Speaking for myself, I've been very critical of Clark and the Liberals on a number of fronts. Anyway, I think you're proving the point that many of us have made and will continue to make and that is that what you found "corrupt" and "criminal" with Christy Clark and the Liberals will be just fine when it comes to the NDP-Green quasi-coalition.

BC with site C will be 95-98% renewable electricity generation.

Ontario is 24% Hydro plus tiny bits of solar and bioenergy, plus 6% wind = 30% renewable. The rest is mostly nuclear, but 10% natural gas.

You don't have to think too hard here. Anyone who was involved in spooling up for Site C is now looking at laying people off in droves. Unintended consequences of a protest vote. Soooo dumb.

Neighbour was over for a few Pepsis and a period of hockey last night. His son-in-law works for an outfit that is involved in Site C prep work. He just got told by his foreman that they're going to start cutting jobs at their company by 20% per month over the next few months. The kid's lucky enough to have a welding ticket, so he figures he's okay for a bit, but he's pretty worried about when they get to him on the list. Crummy deal for these guys.

Didn't take long for more and more companies to reel in the investment. The nightmare for BC workers and families is ramping up at an alarming rate.

“We were planning on putting another about $30 (million) to $50 million of drilling capital on the B.C. side, and now we’re looking at possibly deferring and/or moving some of that into Alberta,” he said Thursday.

“You don’t know what’s going to happen on the political side.”

In B.C., the NDP and Greens have a combined 44 seats, enough to oust Liberal Leader Christy Clark from power.

While Clark supported Kinder Morgan’s pipeline project, Weaver said this week a lot can be done to block the $7.4-billion Trans Mountain project from beginning construction in September.

The line would almost triple the amount of oil that can be shipped from the Edmonton area to Burnaby, B.C., and give petroleum producers more access to export markets in Asia.

The Alberta government estimates it would add 1.5 per cent to the province’s economy and 12,000 jobs by 2022.

Like many in the oilpatch, Zakresky is dismayed by the B.C. coalition’s talk of using “every tool” to block a development that already went through regulatory hearings and has federal approval.

“I get calls all the time by U.S. investors and they say what’s going on in B. C.? It looks unstable, you can’t get pipelines done in Canada,” he said.

Grant Fagerheim, chief executive of Whitecap Resources Inc., which operates across Western Canada, is also concerned what the political developments will mean for the investment climate in the coastal province.

“We need business friendly governments in order to create jobs,” he said. “So we should all be concerned about the direction we’re hearing coming out of the (incoming) B.C. government.”

Industry groups note that after a two-year downturn caused by low oil and gas prices, the sector is slowly beginning to turn the corner.

Statistics Canada data released Thursday shows oilpatch capital spending reached $10.6 billion in the first three months of 2017, up five per cent from a year earlier.

The industry expects to increase spending in B.C. by about five per cent this year to $4 billion, according to the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers.

One area that is attracting attention and money is the prolific Montney formation, one of the world’s biggest shale plays which runs from northeast B.C. into west-central Alberta.

The National Energy Board forecasts the Montney contains 449 trillion cubic feet of marketable gas.

With enough drilling and infrastructure, it could eventually account for three-quarters of the country’s gas production, said Gary Leach, president of the Explorers and Producers Association of Canada.

However, that won’t happen without billions of dollars of private investment.

“They have a huge energy opportunity there,” he said. “This election has shaken up the image of B.C. as a place for resource sector investment.”

Wrong. The smart money goes to those who can prove their plan. A jigsaw puzzle of tidbits collected from various sources, then taken out of context, and compared incorrectly to BC, does not count as a plan.

Someone needs to brush up on the rules and that would be you. I know you like backroom deals as long as it's your team involved but Christy Clark is doing the right thing by seeing the process through in public.
