why would the NDP win? They are only at 41 seats. They would have had 43 seats if they weren't so horribly sexist and racist.

There's sure been a lot of gloating from some who support a party that lost the election.

I think Glacier they are already declaring an actual win as they think the GReens will just turncoat and abandon their party to give the NDP a majority.

In other words the NDP fans still hope for a sleazy back room deal to let them take charge without actually getting elected, and are already celebrating such undemocratic possibilities.

Jeez.

The whole voting system is totally undemocratic.

Without reform, the whining will go on for decades!

What is undemocratic? If you play ball hockey or anything else one is enough to win, is that the only way ndp will ever win is to change the system? Stop your crying and wait until you have a program that makes sense and not a has been for a leader. [icon_lol2.gif]

Proportional representation is a disaster so I am wondering what kind of reform is necessary at this point? I like the crazies being held at bay, and that definitely includes the NDP and the Greens.

Even Neo-Conservatives can be labelled crazy given the right circumstances, like the right to appropriate "divine rule" again.
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

And yet the complaint of undemocratic comes from a guy who would love too see a sleazy backroom deal to take control when not voted in. That's ok to do, you know be in charge without question nor winning an election. Totally ok, but if the other guys do better than you the system is rigged and cheating is then moral.

That mentality is the top reason the NDP shouldn't have the option.

Alfred likes sleazy back room deals?

Who would've thought?

The current system is undemocratic for all parties and the voters.

Says an NDP tooter because they haven't won an election for five terms.

Regardless of how this election turns out, they still can't claim a win even if they made a deal with the greens, because in that case, the very same issue you keep slamming the Liberals for, would apply to the NDP as well, that being that more people voted against them than for them. Only it would be worse in the sense that if they formed government the people would be governed by a party that didn't win the most seats in an election. Now that's truly undemocratic!

No, if they make a deal with the Greens, then the government will essentially be 2 parties, who between them have both the majority of seats and majority of support from the voters. That's more representative of the will of the people as they voted and therefore more democratic.

Naturally you'd look at it that way. Big surprise.

Oddly though if it happened to be the Liberals and Greens working together, I'm sure we'd be reading a completely different take.
