You already answered the question, please don't make it personal.

Awful awful awful - stay safe JBX and hope this fire gets under control before anyone gets hurt.
Truths can be backed up by facts - do you have any?

Re: Kaleden Fire
So conflicting information is coming in, not sure what exactly has been lost at this point too many people saying too many things.
We are leaving, the word is evacuation -may- be expanded and that would probably include us so the sooner we get out the less part of the congestion we could be later.
Hoping nobody else loses anything.

how do we know this
A fire official told CTV News that the wildfire in Kaleden was most likely caused by humans, as there had been no lightning in the area prior to the start of the blaze.
I know a little later than your question, LTD. But seems to be correct.

Yeah, sounds about right.
That's why the sound sucks...

Re: Kaleden Fire
My only issue is the replies of a few of the home owners interviewed by Castanet. They are defiant to stay. That only causes more problems and risk for the responders. Now they have to be concerned about people who might be in the fire zone.
I lived through the 2003 fire and didn't argue when I was told to leave.
Grab what you can and then get out. You staying is just making things more dangerous for everyone trying to protect your home.

I have to say castanet is doing a damn good job with updates on this story. Good reporting. Regular updates. Tight

Re: Kaleden Fire
I wonder if the person responsible for the fire will actually get charged? Seems there was a recent fire in WestBank where the woman responsible is off with just an apology. So far.
I thought there were hefty fines and possible jail time for causing fires?

On CHBC last night the woman was interviewed admitting it was her fault. Carelessness. Could have been far far worse.

That was in West Kelowna; this thread is about the Kaleden fire. Cause yet to be determined or announced in Kaleden.
