Shall we rename this place 'Armageddoland'?

Let's re name it: The Year Without a Summer.

They may have overstated the scale, but they weren't completely wrong. I remember the afternoon of the 3 mile KVR incident, looking across the valley towards Penticton and thinking - Oh, crap - here we go. Luckily, it was a short lived occurrence, but it was far more acrid than the Cariboo smoke ever was.
So far, this smoke from the south, is sitting in a band very high up.
I never disputed the fact that the south Okanagan had smoke from Washington, but it did not move north of that. When the Vernon newspapers and facebook groups starting claiming it was coming from Washington State when in fact it was not, I disputed their claim, especially when we had WAYYYY more smoke than Penticton, and it got worse as you travelled to Kamloops and toward Ashcroft.

The smoke certainly is back. I can't see past Knox Mt, everything has that smokey haze. Might be the day to get the tomatos and get them canned. So much for a nice road trip to Kereomeos.

This smoke is dense. Thicker than a politician trying to understand people

Very smoky here in Lake Country... with some ash falling. But doesn't really smell smoky.

We have ASH now falling, and we live off Abbott and Osprey. The sky towards highway 33 and Big White looks horrendously smoky and dark...wth?

The map I posted tells the whole story. Diamond Creek fire, in Washington. See my link above. Dunno what else to say, other than not to panic & remain calm. *shrug*
It's a helluva pretty orange-coloured evening, though, IMHO. So there's that. :)

Re: Smokanagan - again
A south wind is blowing the smoke up from the states. BC isn't the only place dealing with fires.
The ash is probably from the diamond creek fire near the border.
