Why it's ONLY the Central Okanagan Closing Parks

Because it's the only area under extreme fire danger. Come to Vernon or go to Osoyoos were it's not extreme.

I wonder how they know where the extreme is. Boots on the ground doing fuel moisture tests? Or remote sensing satellite?
I have learned that to be with those I like is enough.

I believe they look at the precipitation and temperature records.
