New fire w/o Terrace Mtn

7 miles west of Terrace Mountain. Not sure how big, but tankers are running out of daylight in a hurry.

There was a bit of lightning showing on the radar as that thunder storm cell passed through that area around 7 pm tonight.

well if it burns towards that older burn should be okay . i never forget the day them 3 fires started in 2008 .was a interesting day for sure

They just updated the fire map and it shows two fires in this area - left one Shorts Creek estimated 3.50 HA and right one - W of Loch Drinkie estimated .10 HA

The Terrace Mountain fire started on July 18-2009. It grew to more than 8000 hectares by the time it was over.

There is nothing left to burn there. It was a fire I will never forget. Terrace Mountain is directly across the lake from me. My entire house was covered with ash from this fire.

I would not think there would be much left to burn up there with this new fire.

Forestry updated the map from last night - change of location and size of Shorts Creek, now 3Km Doug Main estimated 1.0 HA.

Lots of fuel left up Doug Main. It's a few kms to the west of where the Terrace fire started. Miles of timber and cutblocks up there.

The other one looks to be on the old Stuart 200 FSR. That's just outside the Terrace burn too with lots of fuel to the south and west.

It will all depend on which way the wind decides to blow them...
