My brother and I were discussing whether or not the two largest fires in BC History would merge into one massive 800,000 hectare/2,000,000 acre fire because they are now only 15km apart, but your link reminds me that they likely wont because the massive 35,500 ha Pelican Lake fire from 2010 is between the two fires, so probably not much to burn, thus no merger.
