Zooming in on the map, it looks like it's east of Fish Lake Road. Hope the wind moves it away from those structures alongside the road.

ETA: The updated map now shows the fire well north of that location.

Air tankers were dispatched within a very short time of the confirmation of this fire. It was already estimated at 10 has at that time.

Smoke plume now higher than the valley smoke. Top of it is white. 3 Convairs so far 60,55 and 47 and the Air Spray Electra. I expect more.

just took a cruise down to Peachland, sat in the parking lot by the Petro Can on the highway and watched the air attack as the bombers are coming in hard, pretty amazing to watch. Those yellow CL-215 water bombers fly in formation. I haven't seen those guys since 2003, they must have been engaged elsewhere this year.

Really windy over here on the West side, super hot, no humidity, perfect fire conditions.

The CL-215 bombers are amazing. Keep going until they need to refuel. Right now there are 2 Convairs and 2 Electras using the Penticton base to refill with retardant. The one I saw earlier with 60 on the side was an Electra not a Convair.

Just got back from Peachland, people lining the beaches to watch and cars slowing down dangerously on the main road.

Huge plumes of smoke awing the crowds.

Can't decide, back to Peachland or to Ok Mt. Park area for photos.
