Smoke map

Post by ferri »

This isn't real easy to use. It's still in experimental mode, but if you zoom out it will usually load and then you can get an idea of where the smoke is. Usually. :)

Over on the left is the menu for smoke, fires etc.

I posted that in another thread earlier. It's been glitchy lately, though - my guess is it's being hammered by users discovering it everywhere. It's always worked flawlessly before.

It has been a pain lately. I'm sure it's getting a lot of us in California.

Yes, that makes sense. They're being hit hard by fire & smoke down there this season. Craziness.

The smoke right now looks like a killer dinosaur duck.

I use this map for smoke. Note that you will have to change the date to see the most recent sat picture.

When all this smoke has cleared one might want to consider changing the air filter in their car.

Just heard on the news that we can expect this smoke all month.

There goes August, again.

3-6 weeks of summer before we get smoked out.

Air filters do not work against smoke.... they won't be that dirty from smoke because the particles just pass through.

Really?

I'm not so sure. And, for the record - I really did pick the wrong day to wash the car.

Yes, I guess if you have ash. None at my house that I've found....

Wow! No wonder why Quesnel was 10C below forecast today! Only made it up to 14!
