Wildfire closes Hwy 3

UPDATE 2:10 p.m.

Traffic has now been stopped in both directions on Highway 3, about four kilometres east of Hedley, due to the fire.

Helicopters with the BC Wildfire Service are now at the scene and are bucketing the blaze.

The fire has started to run up the slope, but appears to be burning in a relatively rocky area.
