[email protected] 15:40hrs Water level up only 6-8 cm.
I still have that Led Zep song playing in my head from 2017."When the levee breaks, we'll have no place to stay..."

Pretty obscure song to associate to this situation.

Yeah I remember that, and Shadow Ridge was underwater for quite some time too.

April 23 2018 @18:40hrs.
Swallowing my fear, I bravely walked down to the creek to have a look. Water is up about 12 inches and murky... but still a long way to go before overflowing any banks. The snowpack is only around 18-24 inches up at Postil Lake as of yesterday, so probably won't need any hip waders. That could change in less than 2 days with warm weather and a good rain.
Hope you appreciate this cuz I'm putting my life on the line here...

Flood plains are occupied by cities.

Ahhh planning to fail

I have noticed extensive cleaning of the creek banks at both Dilworth and Sexsmith Roads as though to prepare for much water.
Amazing the control that one department has over another at the city.

And -it begins...
Rising steady now for the last 18 hours. About half a meter from entering flood plain.

Oh dear.
Don't take my silence to mean I've agreed with you; I easily could've just lost interest in explaining how wrong you are.

Sure. But not much rain. Maybe 10 mm on Sunday.

Love that Zepplin song you posted. Enjoy hearing their blues influence.

Maybe only 10mm here, but what about what happens up in the mountains could be a lot more and the system could stall and stay longer than what we are expecting here at the airport.

Up another 10 cm and spreading out as well as much increased velocity north to south. Starting to really get moving east to west along Bulman Rd. adjacent to the golf course. Still a long way away from getting worried.

Then there is this:
Every tree along the creeks edge is being removed
.........
All this destruction in an attempt to minimize the possibility of flooding. It was not the big old willow trees that caused last years flooding. Lots of rain, a quick snow melt and a lake that had not being drained off early enough to avert the situation are the reasons. Is it "nature" or "man/woman" that is responsible? By the looks of it these decision makers have called an all out war on "nature" to save "men's/women's" properties.
