captkirkcanada wrote: Aug 14th, 2022, 2:41 pm while global warming explains why forest fires are more becoming more frequent and intense, such fires can in turn accelerate the rise in temperatures”, said Thomas Smith, an assistant professor at the London School of Economics (LSE) who has researched the impact of forest fires on climate.

By consuming the Landes’ famed pine forests, the fires release vast quantities of CO2 stored in the trees. When thousands of hectares go up in smoke “it’s like a carbon bomb exploding”, said Jonathan Lenoir, a specialist in forest management at the CNRS research centre.

Such effects were widely documented following Australia’s historic wildfire season in 2019-2020, which triggered vast algal blooms in the Pacific Ocean and turned New Zealand’s glaciers brown with ash.

The vegetation that grows back naturally is likely to be of a more Mediterranean type, Filippi added, resulting in a landscape similar to the scrubland of southeastern France, “which provides less cover, evaporates less water and therefore also produces less freshness”.

While the short-term outlook is bleak, the increasing fires present “an opportunity to improve forest management in the longer term”, argued LSE’s Smith.

I would love to see a peer reviewed research arguing against this one but i know it doesn't exist
You did not provide any research yourself, just a bunch of spelling mistakes in a big fat anonymous opinion.
You don't need research when you have measurements, and no one cares about measurements unless the topic is "global".
Some areas may increase, some areas decrease, over-all wildfires world-wide are decreasing for numerous reasons.

Yes, condolences.
Also, climate change had nothing to do with this.

Good thing i didnt say it did . What i did say is the same process that allowed the inside of a car to heat up when the windows are up and it is a hot day out it is literly why you build a greenhouse ,is the same that happens when we pump to much ghg into the atmosphere ( the thing that keeps us alive for the righties ) called the green house effect which was first proven in experiment in the 1800s .

I guess it's not the same thing or we would all be dead. Glass is not the same as gas. Atmosphere (the stuff we breath for the dummies) does not create an air tight small sealed compartment around the earth. That's why you can't build a greenhouse out of ghg.

There is no connection since local weather and the earths climate are two seperate issues . Kids in school know this by grade 2 now . It is a mistake to confuse the two

You must mean like local heat waves that any dummy knows has nothing to do with earth's climate. Kindergarten kids know that.

No that isnt true , heatwaves are part of the bigger picture it isnt just local when it covers thousands of square miles . Who you calling a dummy ? Maybe lay off the booze in the morning ? And yes kindergarten kids do know heatwaves and local rain showers are not same process

Forest fires cover thousands of square miles too. *removed*
