OK, being a dumb ol logger, I would also pose the theory those trees were actually lower in elevation 7000 years ago.

The Rockies have rebounded after the last and previous ice ages that had pushed the mountains down somewhat.

I think the folding of the sedimentary layers you see are millions of years old. They have found shells from past oceans way up in them thar hills.

I'd be a proponent of logging around towns and dangerous interface areas to reduce the chance of fire ignition on structures, but the forest sector is in disarray at the moment, pretty limited markets. Who wants the logs if they can't sell the lumber.

Except the last full ice age was much more than 7000 years ago, it was 15,000 years ago and receded in to the Holocene epoch (11,000 years ago). The article is mid-Holocene era and the tree line was about 180 meters higher than today, and then descended in to modern times.

A 180 meter rebound in such a short time long after an ice-age? Is that possible?

Climate change fanatics want to bankrupt the entire world for little to no reward - Bjorn Lomborg https://nypost.com/2025/01/19/opinion/c ... no-reward/
The EU’s decision to increase its 2030 emission reduction targets was pure virtue signaling.
The cost is likely to top several trillion Euros, yet the entire effort will merely reduce temperatures by the end of the century by a trivial 0.008-degrees Fahrenheit.
Not focusing on innovation has stunted Europe. The Euro area has seen anemic annual growth over the past decade of just over 1% per person.
For the two trillion euros it has spent on symbolic climate policy, the EU could have lived up to its own innovation spending targets for two decades.
Investment in innovation could have made the EU and the world €60 trillion richer in the long run, generating 500 times more benefits than its symbolic climate policy benefits.
We have grown accustomed to European silliness, but the costs of Trudeau’s climate initiatives are equally depressing. Whatever you feel about the future of the Earth’s climate, it’s clear that all efforts to change it have been, and will continue to be both insanely expensive and futile.

The bedrock of the man mad climate change agenda is that CO2 is driving the warming of the planet. For decades ice core sample have shown conclusively that it's actually the opposite, warming of the planet causes increased CO2. This is mainly due to the warming of the ocean. Warmer water causes higher rates of evaporation, which release more CO2.

This article unwittingly proves that the warming of the planet is causing higher CO2 emissions. Oops.

Also, it mentions that the artic is warming faster than the rest of the world.
"Human-caused climate change has already increased global temperatures, but that warming is happening several times faster in the Arctic"
Here's a fun experiment. Google " {blank} is warming faster than the rest of the world" In the blank enter any country you want. Try it with 3 or 4 different ones. Surprisingly, or not, almost every country in the world will have articles on how it's warming faster than everywhere else. That's science for you.....

Antarctic temperatures do not reflect CO2 levels.

People tend to think of CO2 as an extra blanket around the whole earth, but it isn't like that at all. The green house effect is different in every area based on amount of water vapor and altitude.

Although the poles have just as much CO2, long-term atmospheric warming is not reflected in these areas because there is little to no water vapor due to extreme cold. The oceans and air currents transport tropic heat away to the poles, where heat energy escapes in to space.

and just like that, Greta's handlers find a more lucrative cause to aim her at, hating Jews....good bye man-made climate change crisis that never existed, time to go scream "Death to Israel" and attack Jewish-owned businesses. Oh Greta, just when we thought you couldn't get more evil, your handlers pull this stunt.

I guess the good news is, no more man-made climate change! YA HOO!! It's over!! It's cured!! Now go about your business and let's axe the tax and scrap the cap!!

Just make sure you don't let any Jewish people help in scrapping the cap or Greta will be upset.

Catastrophists like to say that the slight warming of today is "unprecedented." They have no idea what they're talking about. Temperatures have increased as quickly and to much warmer temps than in the current warming cycle. The planet will be fine.

Exactly... don't forget that recently alarmists cried about the receding glaciers... Scientists discovered dead white pines at very high altitude under the glaciers... well white pines don't grow that high unless the temperatures are much higher than current temps, lol :135:
