Hey Cortana! High CPU usage
Bought an acer Swift laptop to use as a travel computer. Awesome little machine.
Poking in the task manager, I find a process called "Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation" is constantly using 25-30% CPU and a large chunk of memory.
Turns out if you have "Hey Cortana!" switched on, it uses a pile of resources just listening and waiting for someone to say "Hey Cortana!"
Turned it off and WADGI now running at 0%.
Good job, Microsoft! Once again I'm reminded why my main lappy is a MacBook Pro.

Yup and not an issue for me as I have never enabled Cortana.
Does your Mac not have Siri?

From Googling Siri and Macs I see many complaints about similar issues with them.

The mac has Siri, but cpu usage is listed at 0.0%, which is somewhat better than 25%.

WADGI does the DSP Audio processing for Windows. I think there may be issues when 3rd party vendors install their extensions for additional effects or what ever else they do. I have no trouble with cortana. There could be many other things that could interfere with audio processing on any O/S. At least there are oogles of Windows techs around.

My point was that Macs can have issues as well and are not perfect as some fanboys seem to think.

As others have pointed out - "Hey siri" uses as much CPU as "Hey cortana". 25% of CPU is not normal and I'm really surprised that you'd assume it was. You bias toward apple products has skewed your perception.

Definitely not normal as I have Hey Cortana enabled and am NOT using 25% of CPU.

The thing about Cortana. She can’t understand anything anyway. So even 1mb is a waste of time

True that. She is quite dense which gets old in a hurry.
