Pairing my TV remote
k, something went wacky.. both TV and remote ( Telus) are working, but I can't get the TV work with the remote. On line instruction didn't help. Telus support was clear as mud ( I am awful with electronic stuff) and they won't send a tech out.

Not the very end of the World but I have gotten so fustrated I have cried.
Anyone good at giving simple instructions.. think of me like a dumb monkey
It is a telus slim line remote
Insigna TV
TIA

Re: Pairing my TV remote
I just went through this. First you need to print out the list of codes for your Tv. Google telus optic remote pairing Insignia TV or something like that. It will give you a list of possible codes.
Turn your TV on, Hit the mode button until the red light flashes next to TV then hit and hold the option button until the red light flashes twice. Enter the first code then hold the power button and if the TV goes off, let go the power button and hit OK. Repeat the process with each code until one of them turns off your TV.
Clear as mud, hey?
If you have trouble locating the codes or anything, let me know.

Re: Pairing my TV remote
I get a prompt to click, but of course the prompt isn't on the remote... I swear stuff like this makes me mental. Doesn't help that I am ambidex, so instructions are difficult.
No idea why it even happened, hardly watch it but maybe an hour
When I am calmed I will follow your instructions and try again
Where is the TV code? thanks Mexi

When you go to the URL I sent and click on the image of the device you are trying to pair (the TV, not the remote), you should be able to select your TV brand and that will give you a list of codes.

Did you know that you can also get your caller ID to display on your TV too? I love that feature.

Re: Pairing my TV remote
My pairing with the remote usually comes out of a bottle or can.
Serious note, thanks mexi cali for helping out another.

Not all providers have that feature. Shaw doesn't.alanjh595 wrote:Did you know that you can also get your caller ID to display on your TV too? I love that feature.

Just switch to Roku. Your phone doubles as a spare remote. Super easy

No need to go buy a bunch of stuff as she just needs to pair the Telus remote with her TV.Coonhound wrote:Just switch to Roku. Your phone doubles as a spare remote. Super easy
Switching to Roku isn't going to fix that.
Telus also works with Google so she could just do that as well for changing channels. Depending on the TV it can turn them on/off as well.
