No Free Phone Options with Telus
So I am looking into getting new phones.
We have been with Telus for over 20 years. They have always had entry level phones for $0 with your plan.
Now, you have to pay for ALL phones. Even the cheap ones are $10/month for 24 months.

Sounds like it might be time to look at other options.

You will pay on any plan.
Either pay "up-front" or over time.
Don't fall victim to these sales tactics.

I don't plan to pay anything for phones. Either that or pay for the phones and get a way better plan.

When I purchase my cellphone I usually go to ebay first see what is available, yes if I ever want to get my first smartphone it will mostly be via ebay.

No phone is free, as pointed out, you either pay for it up front or the cost is subsidized by your plan. There's a reason why they offer dozens of plans and why this plan cannot be used with that phone especially when they offer their "Zero Down" promotions.
Just like all those "free" TVs or tablets they "give" away

Good luck in finding in other options.
