Electric Vehicles
Re: Electric Vehicles
"First, on the common specs, like the SR/F, the SR/S has roughly the same top speed of 124 mph, the same 140 ft-lbs of torque and a charge time of 60 minutes to 95%, with the six kilowatt premium charger option (a $2,000 upgrade)."

From the 1st link;
There will also be an "on-board safety steward" on every trip, who can take manual control of the shuttle at any time
Just a new term for driver/operator.
I didn't even waste the time to look at the 2nd link after reading that.

Hmm, if it's electric then it's got to be quiet. In which case Harley riders won't buy it.

Re: Electric Vehicles
It sounds very similar to cellphone battery over time and repeated charging, it’s efficiency drops.
2 no thanks.

Re: Electric Vehicles
I thought the batter capacity drop challenges were common knowledge? It's the same battery technology as in a mobile phone - just optimized for EV.
The question is "How quickly will the battery degrade" vs "Will the battery degrade". There has not been a battery invented that does degrade with time and # of charge cycles.

It sure does drop quickly, just like his cell phone. Not to mention the older leaf battery capacity is very small when new. I wonder what the guy was told? Now he can only drive 80km. That barely makes it through a day if you have to go to work then get groceries. You can afford a lot more groceries if you don't have to buy a new battery for $15000 which is the price of a new gas car. There is a world-wide battery shortage. Similar for fuel cells since there is a world-wide platinum shortage. You can only mine so much. The guy should get a bicycle. It has 10x the range and it only costs a burger.
