Don't you have to pay extra for a fax machine line via VOIP? I do have a landline via VOIP with Can-com.com but just for phone service.
To send faxes, I use https://faxzero.com/ or http://www.bestfreefax.com/BFFSendFreeFax.php. They offer free fax services to anywhere in North America.

Not sure. I believe my wife sent a fax to our insurance, a couple of weeks ago. Would the extra charge (if any) appear on your invoice?

I assume it would be on the invoice. I also assume the provider created a fax account associated with the VOIP number, but you should check with your provider?
