There is. already a thread here which pretty fully explains the problems with hydrogen I suggest you read it

Good for Suncor. Can't imagine why anyone would like wind or solar in their current state. Wind and solar present huge environmental and recycling problems with barely any benefit.GordonH wrote: ↑Apr 4th, 2022, 8:20 pm Suncor is impo heading in the right direction .

There is no solid evidence to support your exaggerated claims.
Question why is it that after almost every one of my posts in the tech folder yours is the next response? does the word troll mean anything on castanet.

Re: Hydrogen
If engineers recommend hydrogen as an energy solution, and more and more companies are moving away from wind and solar and investing in hydrogen, why would you call my claim exaggerated when the industry is doing it? Solar and wind have literally, stalled globally.
Wind and solar DO present environmental and recycling problems with little benefit. That is a fact.
This is a forum where anyone can kindly state opinions or facts. GordonH could say the same thing you did. Do you have anything good to say about the topic without linking to previous personal quotes?

Re: Hydrogen
Wind and solar actually produce energy, and solar in particular is great. Every technology has its limits and pros and cons, of course, but there are lots of situations where wind and solar are quite beneficial.
Hydrogen does not produce energy. Rather, it's a type of battery. ie. it stores energy.

Yes, that is true. Hydrogen is a dense form of energy storage.Glacier wrote: ↑Apr 5th, 2022, 12:04 pm Wind and solar actually produce energy, and solar in particular is great. Despite spending trillions on renewables, they still represent a small fraction of any energy profile, and there are complexities integrating intermittent power. Not to mention horrendous amounts of real-estate used (environmental issues), and recycling all the waste after a relatively short lifespan will be a nightmare in the making.
The cost of polysilicon materials have quadrupled in the last year. just in the first half of 2021, PV panels jumped 50%.

Of course there are still cases for renewables, but I don't believe they should be as ubiquitous as we are sold on. Energy costs are through the roof in economies that heavily depend on renewables... some economies are literally in danger, such as Germany for trusting in renewables. Energy costs in Germany have spiked in 2022. I'm not sold on renewables... except hydro.

The real future for energy is the most abundant element in the Universe.
This announcement will help Nikola big time. Up goes my stock!!!!
Just as the VHS gave way to digital PVR and CFL bulbs gave way to LED, so will golf carts give way to Hydrogen.
Golf carts are a stop gap measure to appease the moronic eco terrorists that do not understand true science.
Why use a big word when a diminutive one will suffice.

lol EV's on the highways ain't no golf cart. Pretty sure there's a crap ton of science involved in them. Sounds like the no true Scotsman fallacy to me. "True" science...what a ridiculous position to take.

Nice but I need about 3+ times as much towing capacity before it could replace my F350.GordonH wrote: ↑Apr 6th, 2022, 8:21 pm More truck then I would ever need or want https://nikolamotor.com/badger

Re: Hydrogen
Interesting but the max towing is listed at 7 tons. That's still not enough as it would be pushing the limits for my 5th wheel.

This should have more then enough power to tow your 5th wheel.
