Re: Drones
I've had a number of drones over the years. i started with cheap ones around $50-$100. They work good, but require a lot of attention to fly, especially in a breeze.
I bought a DJI mini 2 a couple years ago for around $500. This is an amazing upgrade over the cheep ones. It will hover in one spot on a windy day as soon as you release the controls, can be summoned back within 2 feet of the take off location when I ask it to. It'll fly for 30 minutes and many hundreds of metres away. The camera quality is very good, and easy to operate. It's under 250g, so no ridiculous government bull *bleep* required..
The DJI mini is a great little machine. I'd recommend it to anyone that is looking for game changing drone.

Link to ours is in comments. Same model as previous poster recommended. We use it for all kinds of things. We live in the bush though. Checking out suspicious smoke plumes in fire season (not ones being actively fought of course), planning trails, looking for our dogs, taking photos and video of our various business endeavors, checking out what kind of animals we see far away, just looking at beautiful nature.
