Power button for Windows 11
I just upgraded to Windows 11 and the power button has disappeared from my task bar. How do I get it back?

It is lovely when they move stuff, yet, it may not be too hard to find.

In Windows 11, the start menu and subsequently, the power icon is in the centre of the taskbar but otherwise the same

There is a taskbar setting called taskbar behavior to choose between center and left position.

Or just push your power button on the computer.
Depending on how you have it set it will either go to sleep or shut down.
If it's a laptop my preference is to shut down.
ps, it's easy to find this kind of info with Google.

Wasn't really much of a change. Power button wasn't on taskbar before as you had to click on the Windows start icon.
Now you still click on the Windows icon and it's at the very bottom right side of the start menu.
Personally I'd be much happier if Microsoft spent less time fixing things that aren't broken, and a bit more providing us with options we actually do want, such as the ability to change folder colors from the ugly one they chose.
Or another pet peeve is taskbar transparency which I think requires someone at Microsoft to get out a dictionary and learn what transparent actually means, because it sure isn't the setting they put in the personalization section.
The goofs even sell an app called taskbarX in the Windows store, and it doesn't even work with Win 11 nor will they refund the cost.
Taskbar clock is also so small you need a magnifying glass to see it but are there options to change that? Heck no that would be far too useful. If anyone else is bothered by the clock size I found an app called ElevenClock which allows you to choose font, size, color, and placement, plus a few other options.

With the new Windows 11 update, the power button's location on the taskbar has changed. To bring it back, follow these steps:
1. Right-click on an empty area of the taskbar.
2. Select ""Taskbar settings"" from the menu.
3. Scroll down and find the ""Power button"" option.
4. Toggle it on to display the power button on the taskbar again.

Re: Power button for Windows 11
You could but eventually you will have to reinstall windows 11 back in. Unless Microsoft changes their stance on the retirement date of Win10. I mean l, there is going to be a lot of companies and home users buying new machines on Oct 2025 and they are not going to be happy
**Disclaimer: The above statement is in my OPINION only.

Or you could just click on the windows icon in taskbar, and note the power button at bottom right.JohnstonOwen wrote: ↑Sep 1st, 2023, 3:22 am With the new Windows 11 update, the power button's location on the taskbar has changed. To bring it back, follow these steps:

Your steps don't work after the latest win 11 update.
