Manitoba family abandons EV on highway

Post by The Green Barbarian »

If the Liberals and supporters continue to avoid taking any responsibility for their own failings and address them, then they should not be surprised if they lose yet another election.

Canada is completely broken right now.

Snort,

$115,000.00 worth of electric truck only good to serve as a taxi back and forth to work.

A waste of raw materials and labour to make it all to satisfy an unrealistic agenda pushed by irresponsible government.
Sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice. There’s a certain point at which ignorance becomes malice, at which there is simply no way to become THAT ignorant except deliberately and maliciously.

A $115,000 shopping cart seems a bit extravagant to me. :smt045

The F-150 lightning is twice as bad when towing anything.

I also find the speech recognition hilarious. Apparently the model of vehicle is the "EV toad". lol.

Appears as though they should think about how they feel.

lol Nobody cares to comment on the Tesla guy saying he drives long distances with no problems.
Nor does it say it was abandoned on highway.
The charger the guy found did not seem to work with his vehicle. That same day other cars were working fine at the charger.
Then the guy doesn't use the Plugshare app that says that the next fast charger he went to is not working.
But no, there aren't fast chargers on every corner like gas stations. Especially through rural areas.

Right, perhaps most people should never buy an EV. :-)

There are plenty of offline chargers and line-ups because chargers are unreliable. Only specific politicians would want EVERYONE to have an EV for 2030 or 2035.
According to J.D. Power’s Electric Vehicle Experience Public Charging Study, quoted by Automotive News, the number of failed charging attempts grew from 15 percent in the first quarter of 2021 to more than 21 percent by the third quarter of 2022. At worst, almost 2 in 5 visits to chargers – or 39% – were unsuccessful last year.

...

Out of all the responders to the study who couldn’t charge their vehicles last year, more than three-quarters said that they couldn’t top-up their batteries because the charger was out of service, with other major reasons for failed charging attempts being software glitches, payment processing errors, and vandalism.

I would say those kinds of surveys are skewed because people would be angry and want to say something...as we all do in all avenues of product functionality. The many thousands of fast chargers work perfectly fine most of the time. Gas pumps fail too. Obviously there are fewer fast chargers than gas pumps.
How does that article jump from 21% to 39%?
Only specific politicians would turn a blind eye to ALL the climate events ramping up in severity worldwide. Nothing to see, move along, dog will save us, dog would not let us all die.

What is a "climate event?" I just posted actual studies [//climate change] that indicates there are no increasing droughts or floods. Do you see it a different way?

In my whole life, I've not come across a gas station what was inoperable and I was forced to try elsewhere. I've not come across software problems filling my tank either.

I was responding to your political jab. I'm not interested in responding to whackaloon alternative narratives as is always going on in that thread and using dubious sources to bolster ones argument. Pass. Like this topic, no one will see anything differently or be educated one way or the other. So I try to provide real life facts for any readers happening along that might be interested in reality.

In my whole life I remember getting to gas pumps that weren't functioning. If even just the pump next to it working fine but the one I'm at, not. Which is also the case with fast chargers. Oh this one works. Petro-Can and Canadian Tire use "guns" that are unreliable for Bolts and Konas. So one has to jiggle or hold the "gun" just so to get it to start up. Then it's fine once initialized. I would still like to know how and why the guy in the story had a problem when other people that same day worked fine at that charger.
And then that few chargers are normal in more rural areas or more distant between. When demand is there then the operators can justify the expense of installing in anticipation of revenue to pay for them and then profit.
