Thanks GB. I had watched this. Good video.
Although the analogy at the end about not going backwards is not quite right. More and more people go backwards to a flip-phone to avoid tracking and spying and to simplify and cheapen their mobility, and 20% of EV users go back because of a lousy experience. EVs are not a technologically superior plateau yet.
There are plenty of reasons EVs sales have slowed and it goes well beyond range anxiety.
Hydrogen and electric vehicles are getting a lashing these days. If we are still asking basic questions like "are fuel cells the answer", we shouldn't yet have mandates.
Emissions targets are arbitrary. The science is vastly error-prone. Give up this ridiculously wasteful and obsessive pursuit of green sub-standard mediocrity.
I'm curious, have we seen any hydrogen vehicles at Kelowna's Hydrogen pump?

Considering the current state of Hydrogen and BEV, I think dealers would prefer NOT to sell any of them, but manufacturers are full-speed. Are we are going to kill off our dealers? Thankfully hybrids are making a come back. I don't think hybrids are a best of choice either.

Think of wherever engines are used that aren't in automobiles. There are 100's of examples. Below are some common examples:
- Generators
- Chainsaws
- Water pumps
- Ice augers
- Dirt Bikes, ATV's, snowmobiles, etc
- Boat motors
- Air compressors
- Power washers

I just came across these numbers that appear to fit with recent comments.
EVs Retreat
Ford is sitting on 92,000 unsold EVs in dealer lots and has lost $4.5 BILLION this year alone. With customers rejecting EVs, Ford CEO Jim Farley has been forced to stop EV production, fire and layoff workers, and sell off their EVs at a great loss.

The analogy at the end is perfect. Weird hipsters seem to like going back to flip phones and back to that appalling typing method. Same with vinyl. Ticks and pops and all. No thanks. I would totally go on to another EV if something happened to mine. I have not had a lousy experience ever. The battery recall was dealt with and that's that. The article was too focused on the luxury side. There are still the EV's available in the less than $50k range. Like the Bolt and Leaf. The Bolt is still the best bang for the range buck.Jlabute wrote: ↑Nov 10th, 2023, 9:39 am Although the analogy at the end about not going backwards is not quite right. Hydrogen brings back the higher cost of "fuel". Electricity is much cheaper and everywhere including at home.

Vinyl attracts people with deep pockets. These are the people who've been fooled by the promise of better audio from an older technology. They spend thousands on a turntable, mono tube amps, interconnect cables, electrostatic speakers, and a room remodeling and feel it sounds so good. In reality vinyl is subject to many forms of audio distortion and a low S/N ratio. If you keep good care of your vinyl collection, there are no ticks and pops. You get less for more $$.LovemyBolt wrote: ↑Nov 11th, 2023, 9:37 am

Same with Hydrogen or BEV, you get less for more $ upfront, and less on trade-in. Nothing I would ever buy, yet. Most people don't even have access to home charging.
People buy flip-phones to reduce screen time, reduce complexity, improved ruggedness, better battery life, and cheaper. It is less to look cool.
