And I like how the announcer talks about how rockets like this were to be used to "return astronauts to the moon." Uhhhh if the early moon landings were so successful, just go back to using 1960s technology. The same science that got all those guys to the moon.

Go back to 1960's technology? Why would they do that? How many rockets did the USA and the USSR blow up before they met with success? Now two rockets blow up and it's a failure?
Their Falcon 9 has successfully landed 246 out of 259 launches, no reason Starship won't do as well.
Reusable vs expendable, hot-stage separation, a huge difference compared to 60's tech.

* Between the test flight earlier this year and now they've radically redesigned the stage separation and are using a hot-staging. Never before has an existing rocket had a drastic and dramatic redesign as this without being redesigned
* The 33 Raptor engines powering the Booster and Starship are the most technological advanced engines ever created. These engines are the first full-flow staged combustination engines which many factors more efficient than a traditional gas-generator cycle used in most other rockets. Full flow engines were deemed impossible to build by the US government and not explored
* Most people don't realize that after the Saturn 5 retired, almost every rocket afterwards used Soviet/Russian era engines as America's rocket engines were way to expensive or required complicated fuel mixtures.
