And one more question.

Post by binky11 »

I do not get an audio alert when I get a text message on my iPhone unless the person texting me is also texting from an I pad or I phone. Any suggestions please?

Go into settings click on sounds check to make sure texting has a sound. Then go back into settings and click on notifications and check to see if texting is turned on.

I do find that you will not get notifications for every text if you are having a conversation. Only on the first one.

Yes and yes. I had a VERY well known tech fix this for me about a month ago, and it worked, for about two weeks, then stopped working again. The same thing was happening with my last I phone and I didn’t expect to have the same problem when I upgraded to a newer phone.

Sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice. There’s a certain point at which ignorance becomes malice, at which there is simply no way to become THAT ignorant except deliberately and maliciously.

I’ve never had any issues with any of Apple products I have owned.

Nobody can solve this issue. The tech guy I had is the best of the best, he did all of expo and travels around all of Canada doing this stuff. He doesn’t usually do piddly house calls anymore but we sweet talked him into it lol And the same issue I had on my old I phone transferred over to my new I phone. Strange.

If the person sending you the text is in your Contacts, Edit the Contact and ensure “Text Tone” is set to something other than “None”.

Text tone, sound presto, on the first three I checked. I’m just at a loss. Thanks for the suggestion though 👍

I’ve never had to take any of my Apple products for repair (I’ve owned Apple since early 2000s). Apple sales in Kelowna that I suspect are authorized repair… Simply Computing on Pandosy or Apple place in OPM.

Actually seeing the device would probably easier to fix it.
