Voyager 1, on an amazing trip

Post by Babba_not_Gump »

Wake up little guy, there's still work to do.
It's still going, 47 years later, 24 billion kilometres from Earth and just won't quit.
Considering the technology used then to today's technology, one could say, "keep it simple, stupid".

I'm posting this from Traditional lands of the British Empire & the current Lands of The Dominion of Canada.
I also give thanks for this ethos richness bestowed on us via British Colonialism.

Unfortunately, one of the major themes of the imagery on the Golden Record is the universal division of humans into two biological sexes, an idea now widely abandoned and denounced by the best minds of our time. View with horror, if you dare, the efforts made by those naïve denizens of the Seventies to summarize so-called “human nature.” They seem to have given nary a thought to trans representation in the distant future, which surely qualifies a species of genocide. This raises a crucial question: does Voyager 1’s code provide for the sending of the obviously necessary self-destruct command? Time is running out!

If the Liberals and supporters continue to avoid taking any responsibility for their own failings and address them, then they should not be surprised if they lose yet another election.

Canada is completely broken right now.

^^^^ The author, Colby Cosh, sounds like a CBC shill with a comment like that. Pathetic.

I did listen to a brief interview with Chris Hatfield about Voyager 1 and the crew at the jet propulsion Lab sending a signal for a work around. He mentioned many that work there were not born yet when this blasted off.
Amazing bit of work ladies and gentlemen. :130:

I remember a bit in the first Star Trek movie this spacecraft was part of the story. They found it ??? years later, they called it Vger as some of the letters were missing... Who knows eh...

Fraid not, it was Voyager 6 that was in Star Trek the Motion Picture. Now we have told the machine world everything about the carbon units we are. Thankfully it still shows a woman having a baby and breastfeeding. I wouldn't want aliens to think we are really that dumb- :cuss: .

Reason: Word censor workaround.

I believe that his tongue was firmly in his cheek when he wrote that.
