Sometimes the new reports on the BC wildfire map aren't actually "wildfires". Basically anything that is reported to the wildfire service or they respond to ends up on that map. It could be everything from abandoned campfires to smoke reports to vehicle / structure fires where they're present to make sure it doesn't spread to the forest. They're usually all listed as 0.01 hectares even if it isn't a wildfire.
So yeah just putting that out there. Usually that map is kinda iffy for information.
