The PPC are going to be a target for these accusations cause of a few stories early on, and lets face it they get little tv time for their defence. Knowing this to me it sounds like an "easy out" for someone who just realized the heavy lifting involved being a candidate for a NEW party where depending on the area may not see success for a couple elections if ever.
The good thing is if they get a decent % of the vote they will attract better candidates.

In the PPC platform is wanting to privatize the CBC. PPC won't be getting much love from the CBC.

Sorry, there's a part 2 video in the margin beside part 1, but I can't get it to load here. Maybe someone else will have better luck.

And I would have run into the same problem if I were a candidate for them or even a member of the party- which I am not nor can I be because of the denial on climate change...and I'm a member of another party.

I don't know about you guys, but I remember doing Halloween in -15 C, not, + 15 C when I was a kid.
I don't think the PPC is making friends by denying the obvious. They booted the candidate out for not being fully compliant to the parties beliefs. Also...challenging or questioning the leader in a public forum like Twitter will get someone the boot real quick.

They did not take me up on my offer to drive a 53 foot billboard across Canada for them. At $40,000 it would have been to expensive. Also it wouldn't have looked good to have a environmentalist, socialist non member doing it.

When you say they deny climate, do you mean they say that the world hasn't warm or that humans aren't the main cause. From what I've seen, they do say that the planet has warmed significantly, they just think most of the warming is due to natural causes.

I don't think they have a party position on it though. Rather, they allow a wide variety of views on how much humans are contributing.

"2019 Electoral Platform

Global Warming and Environment: Rejecting Alarmism and Focusing on Concrete Improvements"

http://www.peoplespartyofcanada.ca/glob ... provements

Issue

The Liberal government is spending billions of dollars at home and abroad to fight global warming—or “climate change” as it is now called to account for every natural weather event and its opposite.

In order to lower greenhouse gas emissions, it has imposed taxes and countless regulations, it subsidizes inefficient and costly “green technology,” and it is blocking the development of oil resources crucial to our prosperity.

It is an undisputed fact that the world’s climate has always changed and will continue to change. Until twelve thousand years ago, much of Canada was under ice, and it is thanks to natural climate change that we can live here today.

There is however no scientific consensus on the theory that CO2 produced by human activity is causing dangerous global warming today or will in the future, and that the world is facing environmental catastrophes unless these emissions are drastically reduced. Many renowned scientists continue to challenge this theory.

The policy debate about global warming is not grounded on science anymore. It has been hijacked by proponents of big government who are using crude propaganda techniques to impose their views. They publicly ridicule and harass anyone who expresses doubt. They make exaggerated claims to scare people. They even manipulate school children, getting them to pressure their parents and to demonstrate in the streets.

Facts

Climate change alarmism is based on flawed models that have consistently failed at correctly predicting the future. None of the cataclysmic predictions that have been made about the climate since the 1970s have come true. No new ice age. No steady warming in direct relation with increases in CO2 levels. No disappearance of polar ice caps. No exceptional rise in ocean levels. No abnormal increase in catastrophic weather events. No widespread crop failure and famine.

In fact, CO2 is beneficial for agriculture and there has recently been a measurable “greening” of the world in part thanks to higher levels. Despite what global warming propaganda claims, CO2 is not a pollutant. It is an essential ingredient for life on Earth and needed for plant growth.

Our Plan

Given the uncertainties over the scientific basis of global warming, and the certainties about the huge costs of measures designed to fight it, there is no compelling reason to jeopardize our prosperity with more government interventions.
A People’s Party government will:

Withdraw from the Paris Accord and abandon unrealistic greenhouse gas emission reduction targets.
Stop sending billions of dollars to developing countries to help them reduce their emissions.

Abolish the Liberal government’s carbon tax and leave it to provincial governments to adopt programs to reduce emissions if they want to.

Abolish subsidies for green technology and let private players develop profitable and efficient alternatives.
Invest in adaptation strategies if problems arise as a result of any natural climate change.

Prioritize implementing practical solutions to make Canada’s air, water and soil cleaner, including bringing clean drinking water to remote First Nations communities.

I like their party's position on this, but I can see where it's not helping the individual candidates campaigning on peoples' doorsteps. We haven't moved back to agnosticism yet.

Since Bernier is going to be included in debates I'd urge people to look over their site and read their platform

Ya... maybe they just put that up recently. I last looked at their website 2 weeks or more ago.
I'm in the camp that believes it's all human caused. Sure,133,000BP during the Eemian period, the Greenland icecap half melted, and yes it's been much warmer than now, with much more CO2. It took thousands of years for that to play out, and I'm one of the ones that believe that we have caused it to happen almost instantly on a geologic timescale.
Some may view my politically incorrect opinions as harsh and may be offended by them. Some think political correctness will be our undoing. Zero cuckery. You and 917 others hate this post.

Pretty stupid thing to be posting. Hopefully the party can draw smarter candidates. Bernier can not win a war with an army of the stupid. Needs to vet these people better.

Btw. Lots to say about Greta and her nonsense without getting all crazy and evoking images of Nazis
